Panorama Report Improvements for Uninformative DNA Results
We are excited to announce an update to our Panorama® non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) reports, expected to launch in the next few weeks.
Panorama’s unique ability to distinguish between maternal and fetal (placental) DNA has enabled an improvement to our uninformative DNA result reports.
This reporting update is based on Natera’s validation study demonstrating the ability to determine the presence of maternal chromosome abnormalities, which was recently presented at the 2019 European Society of Human Genetics Meeting, pending publication. The validation poster can be found here.
To summarize:
- Out of 107 suspected maternal X abnormality cases, 101 were confirmed by microarray (PPV = 94.4%)
- No maternal abnormalities were identified when a fetal abnormality was suspected (NPV = 100%) showing our ability to correctly rule out a maternal abnormality as a source of the uninformative result
Starting in early May, our Panorama NIPT uninformative DNA result reports will now include:
